Dr. Wolf Wolfensberger was the originator of Citizen Advocacy and Social Role Valorization, and he was the foremost authority on normalization in North America.

In September 1998, Dr. Wolfensberger presented this two-day lecture at Millersville University, Lyte Auditorium, Millersville, Pennsylvania. The lecture was turned into an eight-hour video presentation and released in 2009.
