Renew Your License

If you have renewed online before, the Board will post your next years online renewal record to your online account 2 months prior to the current expiration date. For example, if your license is due June 30th, you should be able to renew online starting May 1st. We will also email you a renewal notice email. Please note that you don't need to wait till you receive that post card reminder to renew online.

You may call the board office and request a paper form. Allow time for the form to be mailed to you and time for the completed renewal to be returned to the board prior to your license expiration date.
You may also visit the board office and renew. Please note that we are only able to accept checks and cash in person. We are not able to accept credit card payments at the board office.

Mandatory Notice

Mandatory Prescription Monitoring Program Check, Effective January 1, 2021.

The following statutory amendment to the Minnesota Prescription Monitoring Program becomes effective on August 1, 2016 and applies to Minnesota licensed physicians and physician assistants. Specifically, Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 152.126, subdivision 6(c) states:

By July 1, 2017, every prescriber licensed by a health-related licensing board listed in section 214.01, subdivision 2, practicing within this state who is authorized to prescribe controlled substances for humans and who holds a current registration issued by the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, and every pharmacist licensed by the board and practicing within the state, shall register and maintain a user account with the prescription monitoring program. Data submitted by a prescriber, pharmacist, or their delegate during the registration application process, other than their name, license number, and license type, is classified as private pursuant to section 13.02, subdivision 12.
