Dr. Chawla is a pediatrician and hospitalist and the chief of general pediatrics at Children's Minnesota. She received her medical degree, completed her residency and obtained her master's of healthcare administration degree from the University of Minnesota. In the past, she has served on Minneapolis Mayor Hodges' Cradle to K Committee and Governor Dayton's Interagency Coordinating Council on Early Childhood Intervention. She is currently the state of Minnesota's Medical Director of Reach Out and Read and a member of the National Quality Forum's Prevention and Population Health Committee. She serves on the Boards of Reach Out and Read, the Minnesota Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Children's Health Network and the Allina Integrated Medical Network.
