The Girls Collaborative (GC) is an official sub-committee of the Advisory Task Force on Justice Involved Women and Girls. GC is made up of criminal justice professionals, community-providers, previously or current justice involved individuals, and/or anyone that has concern about the wellbeing of female-identified justice involved young people. Meetings are open to the public and we welcome anyone who wants to participate.
GC meets the Second Tuesday of each month from 9 - 10:30 a.m. at the YMCA’s Center for Innovation and Development located at 2525 Wabash Ave., St. Paul, MN.
Due to COVID-19, meetings are being held virtually at this time. Please contact Kristi or Kahlee to be added to the Team Meeting.
The mission of the Girls Collaborative is to advocate and create female and culturally-responsive opportunities to empower all girls to thrive in all stages of life.
The vision of the Girls Collaborative is to create a strong network of professionals working on behalf of all girls.
Statement of Beliefs
· We believe that girls deserve equitable programming that is designed to address their particular needs.
· We believe that when programs holistically meet the needs of girls, girls are empowered to grow in how they care for their mind body and spirit.
· We believe that every girl has the ability to overcome adversity and emerge as resilient through transformative relationships.
· We believe that utilizing a Positive Youth Development approach allows girls to access their strengths and full potential.
Our meetings provide opportunities to learn from each other, network and connect with others who are supporting female-identified youth where they are at. We encourage you to come to all the meetings but understand the important nature of your work so you are free to attend as often as you can.
