Interpreters and Interveners in the Classroom

Students who are deaf, deafblind or hard of hearing may use ASL interpreters, Certified Deaf Interpreters (CDIs) or interveners in the classroom to access education and engage with teachers and peers.
In this workshop an ASL interpreter, CDI and intervener will give an overview of:
- Who these service providers are
- Their training background, roles and responsibilities
- How they interact within the educational team
- How they interact with students and parents.

Who should attend
Parents and guardians of students who use ASL interpreting, CDIs or intervener services at school.
Accessibility
This workshop is in American Sign Language and English with interpretation and real-time captions. If you need other accommodations to participate, please request by September 2, 2025.
