Free tax help for people with disabilities and older adults
4/11/2023 12:59:05 PM
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) offers free tax help to people with disabilities. This program is called Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA).
VITA helps people who:
- Earn $60,000 or less.
- Have disabilities.
- Do not use English as their first language.
There is also a program for people over age 60, called Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE).
The people who provide tax help through VITA and TCE are in your area, so you can get help in person. They must take and pass tax law training classes and be certified by the IRS.
