Honoring Veterans: Resources for hearing health

11/15/2022 12:08:50 PM

Veterans, thank you for your service!

The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Division recognizes that tinnitus and hearing loss are the most common service-connected disabilities for veterans and active duty service members. If you are a veteran, a family member of a veteran, or if you provide services to veterans, it is important to be aware of how hearing health can affect other areas of health, and know what steps to take to get support early.

As part of our commitment to supporting veterans, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Division developed a guide to help veterans and their families take charge of their hearing health. This guide is available in two formats:

Veterans and hearing health webpage

Veterans and hearing health PDF

Please share these resources with the veterans in your life!

The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Division is here to help! If you or a veteran you know is experiencing hearing loss and have questions about:

  • Hearing loss,
  • Communication access or
  • Better access to important sounds around you

Please contact us.
