About the changes

The Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board made technical edits to Chapter 8705 and Chapter 8710 in order to bring its rules into alignment with changes made during the 2023 legislative session.

These edits include:

• Removing references to basic skills examinations, and
• Adding the new exemptions to the requirement that applications for a Tier 3 and Tier 4 license obtain passing scores on content and pedagogy examinations.

Rulemaking Record

Judge Joseph Meyer approved the rules on May 28, 2024 without a hearing. Judge Meyer determined that the proposed rules are in compliance with procedural requirements, that PELSB has statutory authority to adopt the proposed rules, and that the proposed rules meet the requirements of good cause exempt rules.
