OAH's Workers' Compensation Division was established in 1981. The Workers' Compensation Judges of the Division conduct settlement, pretrial and trial-level functions associated with disputed claims for workers' compensation benefits.
The Division is funded from the Special Compensation Fund through a biennial appropriation. No public monies are appropriated from the General Fund to support this work.
OAH conducts workers' compensation hearings in its offices in St. Paul and Duluth, as well as at locations across Minnesota, including Walker, Alexandria, Mankato and Rochester. OAH also conducts hearings via video conferencing technology upon request.
This Division resolves workers' compensation disputes in a fair and timely manner in accordance with law. Minnesota workers' compensation law is found at Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 176.
