0325-38184- Nick Voltzke, Complainant, v. Chad Walsh and Chad Walsh for Sheriff, Respondents. March 31, 2022-  Respondents violated Minn. Stat. § 211A.02, subd. 1(a), by failing to timely file an initial campaign financial report within 14 days of receiving more than $750 in campaign contributions. Respondents violated Minn. Stat. § 211A.02, subd. 1(b), by failing to file a campaign financial report by January 31, 2022. Respondents violated Minn. Stat. § 211A.02, subd. 2, by failing to accurately report expenditures related to campaign billboards. Finally, Respondents violated Minn. Stat. § 211A.12, by accepting contributions in amounts greater than the $250 limit allowed by law.
The Panel concludes that for these violations a total penalty in the amount of $750 is appropriate.
