Minnesota Council on Disability honors six of its exceptional advocates

The Minnesota Council on Disability (MCD) has awarded the Exceptional Advocate Award to individuals for outstanding work in supporting people with disabilities. The 2022 awardees include Mary Hauff, a consortium co-leader and parent, recognized for her efforts in expanding postsecondary education access for people with intellectual disabilities.

Representative Kelly Moller was acknowledged for her advocacy and support for Minnesotans with disabilities, addressing issues such as Metro Mobility and housing. Ken Rodgers of the Minnesota Department of Transportation received recognition for his fierce advocacy for better access to employment, education, and assistive technology for people with disabilities.

Damon Lievestad and Lance Hegland, citizen advocates, were honored for their work addressing the home care crisis and advocating for disability rights and equity. Additionally, several legislators, including Tony Albright, Jamie Becker-Finn, and others, were acknowledged for their contributions to disability-related initiatives.
