Assistance takes many forms at the polling place

Early voting is a convenient option for people with disabilities in Minnesota, but many still prefer in-person voting on Election Day. Voters can bring a helper, such as a family member, friend, or legal guardian, to assist them at the polls, but candidates or union representatives are not allowed to help.

Helpers can assist throughout the voting process, including in the voting booth, but influencing or revealing someone's vote is prohibited. Motor voting or curbside voting is available, where helpers can request assistance from two election judges to fill out the ballot, and this option can also be used for registration or updates.

Election judges are always available to provide assistance, including helping voters find seated voting booths or using ballot marking machines.
