2001: 9/11 Terrorism

Colleen Fraser died on United Flight 93.

Colleen Fraser stood less than 4 feet tall. She walked with a cane, which she would shake to make a point. Often that point was making the world friendlier to people with disabilities.

Fraser, 51, of Elizabeth, N.J., was vice chair of the New Jersey Developmental Disabilities Council. She was one of the 38 passengers killed in the terrorist hijacking aboard United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania on 9/11. She was a passionate and tireless advocate. In fact, Fraser was flying to a grant-writing seminar when she died. She was a friend of the members and staff of the Minnesota Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities.
