Christina (Christy) Muraski is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and is passionate about working with very young children ages 0-5 and their caregivers. Christy has experience working with older children, adults, and couples as well. Christy is trained in experiential play therapy and Theraplay. She uses directive and non-directive play therapy to help children with trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, separation from parents, grief/loss, life transitions, or any other mood or behavioral concern that is impacting a child in a negative way. She also aims to strengthen the relationship between parents and the child as she believes this is crucial for a child’s success and healing. Christy is trained in Circle of Security, a parenting intervention that helps parents create secure attachments with their children. Christy is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) which is an evidence-based treatment for post-traumatic stress and distressing life events, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders allowing individuals to heal. Christy is also bilingual and fluent in American Sign Language. Her background includes being a certified ASL interpreter and counseling deaf and hard of hearing children and parents.
