Statewide Training Programs

Manager Core Quarterly Training

OCDR provides training for public sector employees through a number ongoing training program partnerships.

Conflict Lab Trainings

In June 2026, OCDR was a key partner in launching Minnesota Management and Budget’s new monthly training series, “Conflict Lab,” designed for senior leaders across the State Enterprise. Leaders learn conflict management micro-skills to use in their respective state agencies. The overarching goal is to help state leaders create workplaces where conflict is prevented or managed and relationships and effectiveness improve.

Manager and Human Resources Staff Trainings

OCDR delivers trainings to all new State of Minnesota managers and HR staff as part of the Enterprise Talent Development Core Training Program. Since 2022, OCDR has trained more than 1,300 managers and HR professionals in basic conflict resolution skills.

Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Trainings

OCDR regularly trains Minnesota State Colleges and Universities leaders on conflict management skills. Groups trained include new supervisors, Luoma Leadership Academy participants, and aspiring college presidents.

Environment-focused Conflict Resolution Training

Every year, OCDR supports environmental conflict resolution by providing training to state agencies like the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture as well as to the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources and various park and watershed districts.
