MINNESOTA PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION SELECTS
WILL AS EXECUTIVE SECRETARY
St. Paul, Minnesota — The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (Commission) selected William “Will” Seuffert to serve as Executive Secretary. Seuffert comes to the Commission with over a decade of public service and leadership experience in the State of Minnesota.
Seuffert started the position on January 30. In this position, he will lead the Commission in its work to maintain a regulatory environment that ensures safe, adequate and efficient utility services at fair, reasonable rates consistent with State policies.
“The Commissioners and search team were impressed with Will’s combined knowledge and proven leadership at a state agency, the State Capitol, and the energy sector,” said Commission Chair Katie Sieben. “We are excited to have his talents and expertise to help guide the Commission into the future.”
Seuffert formerly served as the Executive Director of the Environmental Quality Board (EQB). At the EQB, Will managed staff and led a Board of nine state agency commissioners and eight citizens appointed by the Governor to oversee the statewide Environmental Review program and to promote inter-agency coordination and public engagement activities on environmental issues. Prior to his work at the EQB, Will was a Senior Policy Advisor to Governor Mark Dayton focusing on energy, environmental, and agricultural issues. Seuffert also worked as a Committee Administrator for the Minnesota Senate Energy, Utilities, Technology and Communications Committee; and served as a Legislative Assistant in the Minnesota Senate.
Seuffert holds a MA in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University and a BA in Political Science from Eckerd College.
