St. Paul, Minnesota — The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (Commission) will hold public meetings in the Arrowhead and Itasca regions on Monday, September 23, starting at 3:00PM and on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 starting at 12:00PM.

 

The Commission will hold a planning meeting on September 23 at which Commissioners and staff will hear a presentation by Bethany Owen, President of ALLETE, held at the Cloquet Forestry Center followed by a tour of the Thomson Hydro Station. The following day on September 24 the Commissioners will tour US Steel’s Keewatin Taconite Facility. Individual tours will be conducted. No meeting will be held with Commissioners at this location and this specific tour is not open to the public. After the tour, and open to the public, Commissioners will meet over lunch with the Minnesota Power Community Advisory Panel, ITASCAP, followed by a presentation at the Boswell Energy Center and a tour of this facility.

 

The events are open to the public, except for the US Steel Keewatin Taconite Facility Tour. Members of the public are asked to pre-register to attend the public tours. The pre-registration form is available by clicking on this link Pre-registration.

 

In the case of lunch, the Commission welcomes the public to attend the luncheon at their own expense. Lunch is not provided.
