St. Paul, Minnesota — At its November 12, 2020 Agenda meeting, the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission granted permission to CenturyLink to discontinue wholesale services to KTF Telecom. As a result, KTF Telecom customers in the Mora, Pine City, and Rush City areas may lose service and should contact KTF Telecom to determine if they will be impacted. In the event of a disconnection, customers will need to find an alternate provider. This decision involves Commission regulated services only. Prior to discontinuing service, CenturyLink will issue a notice to known KTF Telecom customers giving consumers 30 days to find a new service provider. Costumers may also consult the Department of Commerce’s Telephone Service Provider list here.
Customers having trouble finding an alternative provider may contact Public Utilities Commission's Consumer Affairs Office (CAO) for assistance and mediation services. The CAO helps resolve disputes between customers and utility companies, contact at 651.296.0406, or 800.657.3782, or email at consumer.puc@state.mn.us.
