Ways to file a public comment
A comment is a statement of your opinion about any issue that the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (Commission) is making a decision on in a docket. A comment could include a recommendation about what the Commission should do. Comments can also be your answers to questions asked in a public notice, found in the docket you are interested in. Your comments are filed in eDockets and are part of the “official record” in that docket, made available for review by Commissioners.
Comments are public documents and will be filed with all of the information you include in the comment. Please be sure to remove any personal information that you do not want to be public before you submit.
Tips to ensure your comment is filed in the correct docket
To ensure your comments are filed with the case you are interested in, it is helpful provide a Docket Number. Docket Numbers can be found in the Minnesota Department of Commerce eDockets system.
A notice announcing the public comment period is also in eDockets. The notice provides a list of topics for comment. Questions provided as topics for comment are a guide to suggest what information to provide that is most helpful.
