Practioner Q&A's
When will Minnesota be available through the Compact and how do I apply?
Currently, the Compact Commission and member states are working to establish the structures necessary to implement the compact, including the data system. After the data system is completed, licensed professionals will be able to apply for the privilege to practice in other states, tentatively expected in late 2025.
How much will it cost?
The cost of a Compact privilege is set by each state. Once states are ready to issue privileges, more information on the exact cost of a privilege for that state will be available.
What is the difference between a license and a privilege to practice?
A license refers to the standard license granted by your home state. A privilege to practice is granted by other Compact member states after your home state license has been approved.
Will I need to complete CEUs for each state I have a privilege?
Practitioners complete CEU requirements for their home state.
What about jurisprudence exams?
Practitioners will complete jurisprudence examinations in each state that requires them and where they want to apply for a privilege to practice.
