During the 2019 legislative session, the Minnesota Legislature designated the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) as the administrator of the Collaborative Urban and Greater Minnesota Educators of Color (CUGMEC) Grant program, formerly known as the Collaborative Urban Educators (CUE) grant. 

On July 15, PELSB posted the /pelsb/board/grants/index.jspCUGMEC Grant application and additional materials online. All Minnesota colleges and university with PELSB-approved teacher preparation programs may apply for this grant. 

PELSB will hold an informational meeting on July 30 about the CUGMEC Grant to provide updates and answer questions about the application and grant selection process. The meeting will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the PELSB Board Room, 1021 Bandana Blvd. E., Suite 222, St. Paul, MN 55108.

Minnesota teacher preparation provides interested in submitting an application for CUGMEC grant funds must submit an Intent to Apply to Yelena Bailey by email at yelena.bailey@state.mn.us before August 1, 2019.

CUGMEC Grant applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on August 21, 2019. PELSB will award the grants in September 2019.
