PELSB Converting Five-Year, Full-Time Licenses to Tier 4 Licenses

Sections of PELSB Website will be Unavailable during Conversion

6/21/2019 9:34:05 AM

On June 28, 2019, PELSB will convert all five-year, full-time teaching and related services licenses expiring in 2020 and after to Tier 4 licenses. PELSB staff will work with MNIT to ensure that all applicable licenses are converted accordingly.

The conversion to a Tier 4 license will appear only on a teacher’s License Detail page of PELSB’s License Lookup. The PDF version of the license will not be updated until the license is renewed.

Please note that all non-renewable licenses expiring in 2020 will need to be converted to an out-of-field permission (OFP). Teachers holding a non-renewable license should work with their school district or charter school to submit an OFP request.

As part of the conversion process, several sections of the PELSB website, including the Online License Renewal System, will be unavailable from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on June 28.

Update: Sections of PELSB's website will be unavailable during the entirety of June 28. The conversion process is taking longer than initially expected.

Licensed educators do not need to take any action to ensure that their license is converted to a Tier 4 license, and all converted Tier 4 licenses will retain their current expiration date.
