Extraordinary Leader™ Workshop
A one (1) day interactive, instructor-led, leadership development experience that takes participants through a step-by-step analysis of their confidential 360 assessment feedback report and the creation of a leadership development plan.
Extraordinary Coach™ Workshop
A strengths-based approach to improving coaching skills by focusing on what extraordinary coaches do well in a one (1) day workshop. Participants gain the critical skills and tools they need to maximize their leadership effectiveness and coach others to perform at their peak.
Elevating Feedback™ Workshop
A half (1/2) day workshop which will enable leaders to provide reinforcing and redirecting feedback to their employees. Leaders will discover how and when to provide positive feedback for recognition and corrective feedback to help others be more productive and cease less effective behavior.
Extraordinary Leader™ 360 Assessment with Individual Feedback and Coaching
A 1-on-1 session with a Zenger Folkman certified consultant. Participants learn Zenger Folkman’s unique cross-training approach to build strengths and create a customized leadership development plan to increase leadership effectiveness.
Individualized Leadership Coaching
Sessions are available for all levels of leaders in state government, from aspiring to executive. A Zenger Folkman certified consultant uses the FUEL coaching model to help leaders expand awareness, discover superior solutions, and make and implement better decisions.
Individual Performance & Career Coaching
Available to all employees in state government based on self-selection or referral from supervisor or manager. ETD offers performance coaching to help individuals maximize their performance with the goal of increasing or improving current performance and capability and career coaching, which focuses on building future capability for career growth.

Leadership Development Programs
Strategic Effectiveness for Aspiring Leaders (SEAL)
Ideal for state employees in non-management roles that aspire to become leaders in state government and wish to build skills that will move them towards this goal. Through defining the characteristics of a leader, participants will learn how they can lead more effectively, regardless of title. Topics include strategic problem solving, presenting to senior-level staff, effective communication and integration of your personal strengths into a leadership development plan.
The Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI)
A cohort-based leadership development program designed to prepare future leaders in Minnesota government. Over the course of seven (7) months, participants experience instruction from topical experts, small group interaction, interviews with other leaders and 360 feedback assessments designed to build self-awareness in a leadership context. Two (2) groups of thirty (30) participants embark each September on a journey that increases knowledge of public sector leadership, individual leadership effectiveness, and develops important skills through critical thinking, interviews, study, and reflection. Join the hundreds of ELI alumni that have increased their responsibilities and received promotions in state government as a result of completing the Emerging Leadership Institute.
The Senior Leadership Institute (SLI)
Focuses on preparing more experienced managers and directors for higher administrative roles in leadership. The ten (10) session Senior Leadership Institute is delivered in partnership with the University of Minnesota Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs. The content fosters creativity and innovation in state government and builds leadership skills in a systems context. SLI equips leaders with the tools they need to positively impact the complexity of public issues in today’s challenging environment.
