The Guardian ad Litem Board encourages public comment and feedback. The first 15 minutes of each Board meeting is open for members of the public to address the Board. This Public Comment Period allows members of the public to speak to the entire GAL Board.
• Members of the public are encouraged to provide the GAL Program Administrator advance notice of their intent to speak.
• Persons who notify the GAL Program Administrator in advance will be given priority in the speaking order.
• The GAL Program administrator may be notified by email or telephone, at 651-215-9467
• On the day of the meeting, members of the public are asked to sign in for Public Comment Period at least 5 minutes before the meeting start time.
• This sign-in ensures that the time for public comment is evenly allocated among speakers.
• The Chair shall allot a reasonable time for the Public Comment Period during the public portion of the meeting
• The Chair has inherent discretion to limit public comment.
• Irrespective of the Chair’s decision, the Board may limit or extend the period for public comment by a majority vote.
• The Board does not receive comments from the public during the meeting other than during the allotted public comment period.
Members of the public should be advised that comments shared during the Public Comment Period are included in public meeting minutes published on the Board’s website.
