Laws and Rules

The practice of psychology and behavior analysis in Minnesota impacts public health, safety, and welfare. The regulations in psychology statute sections 148.88 to 148.981, and behavior analysis statute sections 148.9981 to 148.9995, are designed to protect the public from unqualified individuals and from unethical or unprofessional conduct by licensed practitioners. Additionally, the rules in sections 7200.0110 to 7200.6000 further expand upon the psychology statutes. Together, these statutes and rules constitute the Psychology Practice Act and the Behavior Analysis Practice Act.
