A former licensee who has voluntarily terminated or been terminated for nonrenewal of license, may be relicensed after complying with the requirements listed in Minnesota Rules, part 7200.3610:
- Meet all the licensure requirements that were in effect when the initial license was granted.
- Pass the most current version of the Professional Responsibility Exam (PRE).
- Verify that the former licensee has not engaged in the private practice of psychology in this state since the date of termination, except according to the exemptions from licensure in Minnesota Statutes, section 148.96, subdivision 3.
- Submit an application with its corresponding fee.
Practicing without a license: A former licensee who has practiced psychology in Minnesota since the date of termination is subject to disciplinary action at the time a new license is granted or to denial of licensure (Minn. R., part 7200.3620).
Masters Level former licensees returning to practice in Minnesota at the Doctoral Level:
- For previous licensees who terminated their Minnesota licensure as a masters level licensed psychologist and wish to be licensed again at the masters level, please follow the procedures listed above.
- For previous licensees who terminated their Minnesota licensure as a masters level licensed psychologist, have since earned a doctoral degree with a major in psychology, and now wish to become licensed at the doctoral level, please contact the Board office for further information, call us at 612-617-2230 or email us at psychboard.license@state.mn.us
