Judge Milun graduated from the College of St. Benedict's in 1981 and the William Mitchell College of Law in 1985. She worked for Larsen, Heck, Klimek & Powell for five years as a workers' compensation attorney. From 1993 until her appointment as chief judge of the Workers' Compensation Court of Appeals in 2011, she worked as a workers' compensation judge at the Department of Labor & Industry and the Office of Administrative Hearings, except from 2001 to 2003 when she was Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Labor & Industry.
