Judge Carlson graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1990 and then received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1993. In her 30 years of private practice before her appointment to the WCCA in 2023, she worked exclusively in the area of workers’ compensation, representing injured workers as well as employers and insurers throughout Minnesota.
