Community Engagement Practitioners Group

Image-(4)The Community Engagement Practitioners Group (CEPG), formerly known as the Civic Engagement Practitioners Group, has been key in building networks of engagement practitioners across the enterprise at the state of Minnesota, and strengthening connections to community since its first convening in January 2017.

Purpose The Community Engagement Practitioners Group is an opportunity for practitioners across the enterprise to improve resources, collectively solution, and collaborate to find solutions to systemic challenges to authentic community engagement.



Community Engagement Practitioners Group 2Collective Impact Cross-functional engagement practitioners, from across state-agencies and all leadership levels come together quarterly, to advance the following systems change goals:

  • Create a culture of engagement throughout the state, by centering practitioners and providing a responsive space to share effective community engagement practices, and activate community-led solutions.
  • Build trust with communities across Minnesota, by improving the quality and consistency of community engagement across the state. 
  • Ensure community voice shapes state policies, programs, and processes (and) evaluate and measure the effectiveness of community engagement practices.
