Sherron Taylor

Special Projects Advisor, Office of Equity, Opportunity, and Accessibility; Director of Community Outreach & Equity Projects, Department of Commerce
Sherron serves as the Director of Community Outreach and Equity Projects in Governor Affairs, while also fulfilling the role of Special Advisor to Governor Walz within the Office of Equity, Opportunity, and Accessibility. These positions allow me to leverage my expertise and passion for educational equity to foster inclusive environments and advocate for accessible opportunities for all. My journey is defined by a steadfast commitment to empowering communities and advancing equitable initiatives in education and beyond.
 
Sherron leads a dedicated team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. She prepares detailed reports, presentations, and communications for the Governor’s office, Commissioner, and other senior officials to highlight the impact and progress of community engagement and equity efforts. Acting as a liaison between the Governor's office, the Government & External Affairs office, and the community, Sherron ensures open lines of communication and responsiveness to community needs and concerns.
 
Before joining the State of MN, Sherron had over two decades of experience spanning elementary through higher education, Sherron holds a Master of Arts in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts in Youth Development Leadership. Alongside these academic achievements, she possesses a K-12 Principal License, augmenting her ability to lead educational institutions effectively. These credentials underpin her commitment to educational excellence, leadership, and community.
