Hearing Instrument Dispenser Advisory Council The hearing instrument dispenser advisory council is appointed by the commissioner of health and should have seven people included three public members. At least one of which must use a hearing instrument. Another public member must either be a user of hearing instruments or an advocate of hearing instruments. The council must also include an audiologist and three hearing instrument dispensers. No two members of the council can be employed by or have binding contracts with the same hearing instrument manufacturer. The council has these responsibilities: advise the commissioner of health on hearing instrument dispenser certificate standards; provide information to distribute about certificate standards; perform additional duties requested by the commissioner of health. MN Statute 153A.20
