Individualized Education Plan- Additional Information An IEP can include procedures for dealing with misbehavior. The district can use punishments that are already used in its schools, but there are some punishments that have to be included in the IEP before they are used. Some types of punishment can never be used. One example of a prohibited punishment is denying or restricting a student's access to his/her hearing aids or communication boards.
