How to use this website

Deaf Rights Minnesota has gathered together hundreds of links to pages on State websites related to disabilities and aging. Use the top navigation bar to select a retrieval tool:

  • Deaf Rights Topics provides browseable topic categories for drilling down to the desired topic area.
  • A-Z Index is an alphabetical listing of all topics.
  • State Agencies displays all pages on the website from a specific agency, board, council, or division.
  • Search allows full-text searching of the topics, titles, and link descriptions.
Hearing Aid Services Not Covered by Medical Assistance Medical Assistance will not pay for the following hearing aid services: a hearing aid that is not medically necessary; replacement batteries outside of the 90 day period; charges of pick up or delivery of the hearing aid; repairs to a hearing aid during the warranty period or other services that should be covered in the contract between the state and the manufacture; purchase without prior authorization of hearing aid not covered by a contract obtained through the competitive bidding process; hearing aid services billed on a separate claim for payment; hearing aid drying kits, battery chargers, swim molds, or adapters for telephones, television, or radio; canal hearing aids; routine cleaning, checking, and other maintenance of hearing aids without request or referral from the recipient, the recipient's family, or attending physician; and hearing aids prescribed or hearing aid services order by a physician if the hearing aids or the services are provided by a person or entity that commits a felony.
