How to use this website

Deaf Rights Minnesota has gathered together hundreds of links to pages on State websites related to disabilities and aging. Use the top navigation bar to select a retrieval tool:

  • Deaf Rights Topics provides browseable topic categories for drilling down to the desired topic area.

Requirements for a K-8 Teacher of American Sign Language and Deaf Culture A teacher of American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture for kindergarten through grade 8 must: have a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited school; have or apply for a Minnesota elementary education classroom teaching license; and complete the Board of Teaching approved preparation program leading to the licensure of teachers of world languages and cultures.
