In May 2024, the Olmstead Implementation Office (OIO) contracted with ACET, Inc to conduct small community conversations about inclusion, integration, and choice to inform the next Plan.
ACET worked with 23 community partners to host these conversations with people with disabilities, families, and other support persons. In total, 304 people participated in these conversations.
These conversations helped ensure that there was intentional outreach to people with a variety of experiences and identities, including people across the spectrum of disability, race, ethnicity, and socio-economic status. The conversations also included people with experiences in segregated settings, military service, and those who live in greater Minnesota and rural communities.
The Community Conversations Report includes information about the community partners, conversation themes, and demographic information of those who participated.
OIO hosted a community conversation with the Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities (GCDD). This conversation was held without the participation of ACET.
