About the Olmstead Implementation Office
The Minnesota Olmstead Implementation Office (OIO) works at the intersection of Minnesota’s state agencies and disability community. The Olmstead Plan aims to ensure that disabled Minnesotans are living full, integrated lives in their chosen communities. OIO was created in 2013 by the Subcabinet. Its work includes:
- Supporting people with disabilities and state agency leaders in co-creating the Olmstead Plan
- Creating opportunities for public input about the plan
- Educating people about the Olmstead Plan and progress on its goals
- Sharing data about the Olmstead Plan and integration of people with disabilities
Over the next year, OIO will host a variety of engagement opportunities such as a written survey and small and large community conversations. OIO is working with consultants with lived experience of disability to co-create the Olmstead Plan with state agencies. Sign up for the email newsletter to stay up to date with OIO.
