Boozhoo! Indizhinikaaz Taylor O’Shea! Nindoonjibaa Waawaashkeshii-nibi Baagadowaaning. (My name is Taylor O’Shea and I’m from the Deer River/Ball Club, Minnesota area.)
Taylor (she/her) will attend Hamline University in St. Paul where she will study Elementary Education and Ethics and Advocacy. She has a physical disability called Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita that affects her joints. She has been using a power wheelchair since she was two years old.
For most of her high school and middle school years, she’s had many experiences with state policy and advocacy. She’s great at thinking outside the box to solve problems or create easy accommodations. Taylor has worked within her special education classroom at school and has created many bonds with higher-support needs students. She loves to talk in front of small groups and large crowds and considers herself an expert in communication, making friends, event planning, reading, working in youth settings, learning, and all things Taylor Swift!
Taylor is from a small town in northern Minnesota and is passionate about bringing that perspective to this work. She’s currently transitioning her services and healthcare from her mom’s control to her own.
Taylor wants to help make Minnesota a place where people with disabilities can work, live, and succeed! What excites her most about being an Inclusion Consultant is being able to share her experience with people who truly understand and have lived those same experiences.
