Alesha Alexcee

(they/them)

Alesha Alexcee (they/them) is a strategic storyteller, policy advocate, and consultant based in St. Paul, MN. They have 11 years of combined professional and lived expertise in housing justice advocacy and the movement to end homelessness. They work as a Policy Advocate at the Housing Justice Center, and they support the capacity of several local coalitions’ policy agendas and base-building strategies to pass state and local policy.

Previously, they worked as a Research Project Associate at Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago. They centered their work on racial equity through evidence-based practices in community and youth engagement to prevent and end youth homelessness. They were also a member of the National Youth Forum on Homelessness at True Colors United, which was a group of Queer and BIPOC young people with lived experience advocating for the end of youth homelessness on a national level. They also partnered with Housing Justice Collective to co-design a housing justice fellowship using the principles of Emergent Strategy and Artivism, and they serve as the Principal Consultant at their business, Homefull Bish, LLC. They hold an Associate’s degree in Philosophy from Nashville State Community College.

They are most excited about diving headfirst into disability justice and transforming systems that enable Minnesotans with disabilities to thrive. Alesha is a huge cinephile, and you can find them logging their movie reviews on Letterboxd.
