ST. PAUL, Minn. (October 8, 2024) - The Minnesota Agricultural Education Leadership Council (MAELC) awarded $35,000 in scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year to undergraduate and graduate students studying Agricultural Education in Minnesota.

A shortage of high school agriculture teachers exists in Minnesota and nationally.   As a result, there is a tremendous need for more students to become licensed to teach agricultural education.  The purpose of this scholarship program is to award funds to students studying Agricultural Education with the intent of becoming a licensed agriculture teacher.

“MAELC is firmly committed to supporting students who choose to study Agricultural Education in Minnesota.   We believe investing in these students is critical to maintaining their enrollment throughout college and in turn, having them join the agriculture teacher profession in our state,” said Sarah Dornink, MAELC Executive Director.
