The Minnesota Agricultural Education Leadership Council

Established in 1997 by the Minnesota Legislature, MAELC is comprised of sixteen educators, legislators, government officials, and agribusiness and community organization representatives. The Council represents all of the major institutions and groups in Minnesota with an interest in agricultural education and serves as a focal point for initiatives to improve agricultural education in the state. Funding for MAELC operations and programming is through the State of Minnesota and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.

Our Primary Purposes

  • Foster new ideas and curricula
  • Encourage people to enter or remain in the agricultural education profession
  • Provide a venue to look at the "big picture" of agricultural education in Minnesota
  • Serve as an information network - providing answers to agricultural education questions and inquiries
