State Teach Ag Results (STAR)
In 2014, Minnesota was chosen to participate in the State Teach Ag Results (STAR) program during its pilot year, along with ten other states. MAELC chairs Minnesota's STAR committee, which is made up of several advisory members including representatives from the Minnesota Association of Agricultural Educators (MAAE), Minnesota Department of Education, Minnesota FFA, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, Southwest Minnesota State University, and the University of Minnesota.
Minnesota's STAR committee evaluates the program annually, and has chosen several strategies to help with recruitment and/or retention of agriculture teachers:
