Students, families, and workers are encouraged to roll up their sleeves at the Bloomington site or the many vaccination locations available across the state

[ST. PAUL, MN] – Today, to continue making it easier for families, 12–17-year-olds, and workers to get vaccinated, Governor Tim Walz announced the state’s COVID-19 community vaccination site at Mall of America is expanding its hours and capacity.
Beginning September 22, the Bloomington site will have the capacity to administer 500 doses per day and will be expanding its hours to the following: Wednesday-Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
“Not only is the COVID-19 vaccine safe and effective, but it is also free for all Minnesotans,” said Governor Walz. “Whether at school, at work or at home, Minnesotans roll up their sleeves every day to make a difference. If you aren’t vaccinated yet, now is the time to make a difference in the battle against COVID-19. To protect yourself and your family, get your shot as soon as possible wherever you can, including at Mall of America.”
The site at Mall of America, which originally launched in February of 2021, is administering the Pfizer vaccine to eligible individuals age 12 and up.
“Our students, families, and workforce are the strength of Minnesota,” said Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan. “To keep Minnesota safe and healthy, we must protect our kids, families, and workers from COVID-19. The surest way to do that is to get vaccinated as soon as possible. That’s why we are expanding hours at this site. Get in and get vaccinated, Minnesota!”
The site’s current capacity is 150 doses per day and current hours are: Wednesday-Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Parent or guardian consent is required for individuals age 12 through 17.
With the spread of the Delta variant, getting vaccinated and testing when recommended remain critical to slowing the spread of COVID-19 and keeping Minnesota students and educators in the classroom this fall. The state continues to assess current and projected vaccination needs and will keep working to meet demand.
Vaccination is free across Minnesota, including at all of the state’s community testing sites. Vaccination is open to anyone 12 and up who are eligible, with or without insurance. Minnesotans are encouraged to find their vaccine here: https://mn.gov/covid19/vaccine/find-vaccine/locations/index.jsp
The state’s community sites welcome walk-ins or appointments. Minnesotans can find out more information and make an appointment here: https://mn.gov/covid19/vaccine/find-vaccine/community-vaccination-program/index.jsp
