Overview
The content style guide intends to create a consistent voice, tone, look and feel across agencywide communications. The guide provides shared standards for how content is written, structured, designed and presented so audiences have a consistent experience regardless of who creates the communication. These standards apply to communications drafted, created or implemented by internal staff, external partners, contractors and vendors.
The guide addresses writing and editorial style, application of the human services "flavor" of the State of Minnesota brand, graphic and visual standards, web content development and recommended page layouts, accessibility, language and cultural considerations, and other communication standards. For web content, the guide provides standards for creating user-centered, plain-language, accessible, mobile-friendly and task-focused content that people can find, understand and use.
