RE: Proposed Amendments to Permanent Rules Relating to Dentists, Dental Therapists, Dental Hygienists, and Licensed Dental Assistants,Minnesota Rules 3100.3600, 3100.8500, 3100.8700, and 3100.9600; Revisor’s ID Number 4507
 
The Minnesota Board of Dentistry is considering some amendments to its existing rules. The Board’s proposed rules under consideration focuses on the following areas: simplify the documentation requirements for education regarding nitrous oxide and for CPR certification; modify some delegated procedures for licensed dental assistants, including impressions, ligature ties and arch wires, topical fluoride, and managing medications; restructure into different categories all of the delegated procedures for dental hygienists; and supplement the recordkeeping requirements for a dental/medical history and nitrous oxide in the progress notes.
