New Federal Standards for Race Collection Data
This document outlines the recent changes to federal race data collection known as “SPD 15.” These changes include a combined framework for race and ethnicity, a new Middle East or North African race category, guidance on the disaggregation of the major race groups, and updating various terminology and survey instructions. Also included in this document is a brief overview of the research that underpins these changes.
