- In 2017, there were 68,603 babies born to families who lived in Minnesota (even if the birth occurred out of state).
- Three percent of babies were born to mothers who were teenagers.
- About 13,500 babies (20%) were born to (immigrant) mothers who were born outside of the U.S. in 2017.
- Births peaked in Minnesota in 2007, with more than 73,000 babies born, and have not yet returned to that number since.
