Those who receive a confirmation email will also receive a reminder email with additional information shortly before the workshop.

Data Practices 201: Data Access Policies and Procedures
Want a deeper dive into the Data Practices Act's requirements for data access policies and processing data requests? Then this workshop is for you!
The workshop offers:
- Discussion of general legal requirements for a government entity's data access policies as required by Minn. Stat., section 13.025
- Guidance on practices and procedures for responding to data requests
- Tips on training staff about data practices requirements
- An opportunity to compare data practices policies and procedures with colleagues at other government entities
This workshop is an advance workshop that is designed for government employees who oversee data practices policies and procedures at a government entity, but everyone is welcome to join. If you are new to state data practices requirements, we suggest completing our Intro to Data Practices Policies and Procedures Workshop first.
Please Note: This workshop will require group participation via WebEx, and the Data Practices Office will ask participants to bring their entities’ data access policies. Please ensure that you have audio and video technology available to participate in the group discussions.

Date: Thursday, December 4, 2025
Time: 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Place: Remote attendance only
Cost: $125 per person (please register each individual who will attend). This price was recently updated to reflect the workshop's new length.
Other details and requirements:
- Space is limited to 30 attendees. You will receive an email confirming your registration and a reminder email prior to the workshop with attendance instructions and handouts. Please note that we are asking you to respond to initial questions on the registration form.
- If you are unable to attend, please contact us 5 days before the workshop.
- We will be using WebEx meetings for this workshop. You will need a computer with either internal or external speakers and a working microphone. We request that attendees have their videos turned on during the workshop.
- Invoice for payment will be provided following the workshop, and payment must be made via SWIFT, check, or credit card. Please provide notice of cancellation as soon as possible to allow another person to attend in your place.

Advanced Data Practices: Personnel Data Redaction
Interested in a deeper dive into providing personnel data to requesters? Then this two-hour workshop is for you!
This workshop offers:
- Information about requirements for providing data and redaction under the Minnesota Data Practices Act, Chapter 13
- Hands-on activities to apply personnel data classifications under Minnesota Statutes section 13.43
- Opportunities to connect with other employees performing personnel redactions and share approaches and techniques.
This workshop is an advanced workshop designed for government employees with training or experience in personnel data classifications.
Note: This workshop is interactive and will require group participation. Please ensure that you have audio and video technology available to participate in the group discussions.
