Minnesota Statutes, section 121A.64 requires school districts and unions to discuss issues related to the Model Policy on Staff Notification of Violent Students. Laws of Minnesota 2003, 1st Spec Sess. chapter 9, article 2, section 53, directs the Data Practices Office to post the policy on its website.
Model Policy on Staff Notification of Violent Students
This policy was developed in 2003 by representatives of the Minnesota school boards association, Education Minnesota, and the Information Policy Analysis Division in the Minnesota Department of Administration, the parent of a child who has participated in the Title I delinquent education program selected by the commissioner of education, and the commissioner of education. It has not been updated by that group.
Note: The legislature amended section 121A.64, inserting the language, "including any documented physical assault of a district employee by the student."
