Jeremy Olson has joined the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) as Agency Chief Financial Officer.

Jeremy comes to MDVA offering an extensive background and career in Finance and Accounting that has spanned over 25 years. He has held managerial finance roles for more than 18 years with the State of Minnesota, including Accounting Manager at the Minnesota Judicial Branch, CFO with the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources and Assistant CFO with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, as well as other financial leadership roles in the private sector. Jeremy provides extensive understanding and expertise in financial analysis, auditing, internal controls and governmental accounting.

Jeremy is also an avid learner in multiple areas of educational study including accounting, finance, marketing and management. He holds both a Bachelor of Science Degree and MBA from the Carlson School of Management with emphasis on Finance, Accounting and Business. He also obtained an additional master’s level certificate in Accounting through Keller Graduate School. More recently in 2024, Jeremy passed his CPA certification in the State of Minnesota.

Throughout his career, Jeremy’s focus has increasingly been on one of service to others. He has profound gratitude for the military Veterans in our community and the liberties and prosperity that their service has provided to all of us. He is excited to join the team at MDVA and is hopeful to use his managerial finance skills and experience to add value and to show honor toward our Veterans and their families across Minnesota.
