    File a Complaint

    The Ombudsperson for American Indian Families responds to your concerns with respect and dignity. 

    If you are not sure whether you wish to make a formal complaint, contact us first at intake.oaif@state.mn.us.

    If you wish to make an anonymous complaint, call us at 651-643-2523.

    When you make a formal complaint, be prepared to provide the following information:

    • Your name and contact information, including a telephone number and email address.
    • The nature of the reason why you are contacting the Ombudsperson.
    • The Minnesota county that is involved and the names of the parents of the child.
    • If known, the name of the tribe/tribes that the child may be tribally affiliated with.
