[ST. PAUL, MN] – Governor Tim Walz today announced that Minnesota’s roads were ranked the best in the nation by a Consumer Affairs analysis. Minnesota’s ranking is based on the most recent available data from the U.S. Department of Transportation on road safety and quality, miles traveled, and spending on road improvements.
“This achievement didn’t happen by accident – it reflects our yearslong commitment to improving the safety and quality of our roads,” said Governor Walz. “In Minnesota, we take pride in maintaining the infrastructure that builds strong communities, creates jobs, and drives economic growth.”
Last year, Governor Walz signed a $2.6 billion infrastructure bill into law, the largest infrastructure bill in state history. In 2020, he signed a $1.9 billion investment in the state’s infrastructure into law.
This ranking comes as Minnesota was recently named the top state for health care, a top-five state for business, and a top-five state to live and work.
