[ST. PAUL, MN] – Governor Tim Walz today visited St. Cloud’s wastewater treatment plant as part of a statewide tour highlighting state infrastructure needs ahead of the 2024 legislative session. Governor Walz was joined by Senator Aric Putnam, Representative Dan Wolgamott, and St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis.

“I’m traveling the state to tour the infrastructure investments that would make the biggest difference for our communities,” said Governor Walz. “St. Cloud’s Wastewater treatment plant provides an essential service – one we often take for granted. We've got to make the investments to ensure our infrastructure remains safe and reliable for Minnesotans.”

In June, Governor Walz signed the state’s largest-ever infrastructure bill into law. The $2.6 billion package invests in construction and renovation projects, creating thousands of good-paying jobs for Minnesotans and bringing long-term benefits to communities. Since then, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan have visited local projects across the state, from Thief River Falls and Moorhead to Chisholm and Winona.
